She was welcomed immediately in with the shadow fairies who showed her the way of darkness. She was taught that she was a soul catcher fairy and exactly what it meant she could do. Willow started off with simple things like feeding on souls and flying. There was an instance where she changed who she looked like on accident and walked around. The shadow fairies thought that some how another type of fairy had managed to get into their encampment. A leader approached Willow and began questioning her. Confused Willow tried to explain that it was her, but the leader refused to believe her. Willow was tied up in the middle of the encampment so everyone could watch her and make sure she didn't escape. After a few hours Willow's body changed once more back to her normal look. Everyone stood around staring in awe as the stranger turned into someone they knew. The leader who had her tied up apologized immensely and cut her down. Willow shrugged it off and went back to her tent. She didn't understand what had happened and wanted to recreate it. She sat with a shard of a mirror and focused on changing herself. She grew frustrated with herself when she couldn't change again. Willow looked out of her tent and spotted some of the fairies grouped together talking. She moved closer to hear what they were talking about. She heard things she never thought she would ever hear. They were plotting to run her out of the encampment for being different. Growing even more angry Willow went to her tent and crammed her stuff in her bag. As she crouched putting her things into her bag she let all of her anger burn inside of her until it felt like it all just left her body. She stood and left her tent. The group of fairies that had been talking about her ran past her. Each one of them was on fire. Willow watched in shock, but shrugged it off and walked through the encampment so everyone could see that she was leaving. When she reached the other side of the encampment she let her wings out and flew off without looking back. Willow traveled around trying to make a living for herself. She did odd jobs wherever she went and slept in trees or on roofs. It was obvious she didn't belong in the towns she went to. She just stuck out like a sore thumb. Willow flew into windows when children would go to sleep and steal their souls. She only took one or two per town then moved on to the next town. Living was hard for her, but she managed. Willow began to grow restless with being who she was, so she decided she would try and settle down in one of the towns for longer than a week. She kept going until she found a town again and decided to check into one of the inns. She payed and received a room where she would finally sleep in a real bed for the first time. Living off the land for all of her life Willow wasn't sure what the bed was for, but eventually figured it out. Within a day or two she would leave her room and go explore the town and find things she had never known.
